Ozlo Sleepbuds 2 detect when you doze and switch your podcast to masking sound

The bedside case also logs room noise, light and temperature. SoundGuys' lab measured 71.3% less perceived loudness, with bass the weak spot.

Best for: sleepers bothered by voices and clatter.

Skip it if: your trouble is traffic or a thumping wall; weigh Soundcore's Sleep A30 first.

Reviewers agree: comfort gets the warmest words, from SoundGuys and Gizmodo.

They split on: the case button, liked by SoundGuys but not Mashable.

Price: $279 at Ozlo's US store with a 30-day return policy, checked 30 October 2026.

One morning in Nicola Appleton's July 2026 week with Ozlo Sleepbuds 2, the Smart Case had logged a 94-decibel sound at 3:17 a.m. Appleton, Tom's Guide's sleep editor, is often awake at that hour and found it useful to learn that noise could be partly to blame. That moment sums up what Ozlo's second-generation sleep earbuds, on sale since late July 2026, set out to do: mask what reaches your ears and record what the room was doing.[1] [2] [3]

When the buds sense you've drifted off, streamed audio hands over to a sleep sound, and a case button starts or stops it and snoozes the in-ear alarm. Accelerometers inside estimate when you fell asleep and which stage you were in. The case adds noise, light and temperature readings; Ozlo says the case's microphone is there to assess room noise and the buds have none for calls. Each bud weighs 1.6 grams and stands 11mm tall, per Sleep Foundation's spec list, and a silicone wing tucks into the ear to hold it.[4] [3] [5]

Fit gets the warmest words. In August 2026, SoundGuys' Adam Birney named them the most comfortable sleep earbuds you can buy, saying they sit flush enough that rolling over doesn't push them into the ear canal, and Gizmodo's James Pero put them a small margin ahead of Soundcore's Sleep A30 for comfort. Ozlo claims up to 14 hours of battery, up from 10 hours. After each of two nights of about 7.5 hours' sleep, Pero's buds had dropped from 100% to 60%; Birney still had roughly 30% left after eight hours of streaming.[3] [6] [7]

Ozlo skips noise cancelling on purpose: co-founder Charles Taylor tells Tom's Guide it suits steady drone, while bedrooms bring jagged sounds like snoring. In SoundGuys' lab, with a good seal, average perceived loudness fell by 71.3%, and sound above 2kHz, where voices and clatter sit, dropped by 30dB or more; below 200Hz the cut was only about 5 to 10dB. In a September 2026 review, Sleep Foundation's Jay Vera Summer wasn't woken by neighbour noise that often disturbs her, and Appleton found snoring and street noise no problem.[1] [3] [4]

Pero called the case's sensors a little tacked on, since the light reading stayed almost flat as the sun came up, and warns that Simple mode records no sleep data. A Fast Company reviewer, as summarised by SoundGuys, found AirPods Pro 2 better at muting random snoring and reported some discomfort after wearing the Sleepbuds 2 overnight. The case button splits opinion: SoundGuys likes it, while Mashable's Bethany Allard didn't like that it replaces on-ear touch controls.[7] [6] [3] [2]

Ozlo's US store listed the Sleepbuds 2 at $279, with a 30-day return policy, when checked on 30 October 2026. Pero and Birney both point to Soundcore's cheaper Sleep A30, which adds noise cancelling, and Birney's figures suggest bass is where cancelling helps most: if your bedroom's trouble is traffic or a thumping wall, weigh the A30 first. If it's voices and clatter, the lab's treble numbers suit these buds, and the return window gives you a month to check.[5] [6] [3]
