Samsung Galaxy Ring is comfortable enough to forget, with no monthly fee, testers say
The open question is battery life. A month-long test reached 7 to 8 days on a size 12, while two long-term owners now get about two to three days.

At a glance
Best for: Android users who want sleep and energy trends from a ring they'll forget they're wearing.
Skip it if: you're not on Android or want a screen.
Reviewers agree: it's comfortable enough to forget, with no monthly fee.
They split on: battery, 7 to 8 days in a month-long test against two to three for long-term owners.
Four testers described the Samsung Galaxy Ring as a ring you stop noticing. HotHardware's Myriam Joire wore a size 12 on a middle finger almost non-stop for about a month and called it supremely comfortable. GSMArena's Yordan said a size 11 almost immediately stopped registering, though you'll feel it when using that hand. Tbreak's reviewer made the same point after three months, and Garage Gym Reviews' Caine Wilkes, who has large hands and wore his on a pinky, said you can forget it's there.[1] [2] [3] [4]
The software earns praise too, and it doesn't send a bill. HotHardware and Tbreak both report no monthly fee, and Wilkes gave price and value 4.5 out of 5, citing the missing subscription. After about a week of wear, Yordan saw the app's AI pick out busy days and possible reasons for restless nights, and rated the sleep tracking very accurate, an impression with no lab comparison. Wilkes liked the score too but advises trusting how you feel.[1] [3] [4] [2]
On accuracy, HotHardware supplies a number. It compared several days of the ring's data with readings from a OnePlus Watch 2, Galaxy Watch Ultra and Pixel Watch 3, and found the ring's figures within about 10% of those watches. Tbreak's reviewer enjoyed a gesture as well: silencing a phone alarm with a finger pinch, without reaching for the phone.[1] [3]
Battery life is where the accounts split. HotHardware reported 7 to 8 days a charge on that size 12, while Yordan's size 11 lasted about five, and Samsung's US page, read on 19 October 2026, claims up to seven days on sizes 12 and 13 and up to six on smaller ones. Owners saw less: Tbreak's reviewer got six days in month one but charged every two to three days by month three, and T3's Chris Hall has seen about five days shrink to about two since November 2025, noting the ring can't be repaired and the warranty lasts a year.[1] [2] [5] [3] [6]
It's Android only, but non-Samsung phones work too: HotHardware and GSMArena lost only the gestures, though Samsung's footnotes tie Energy Score insights to a compatible Galaxy AI phone. There's no screen. GSMArena found its running data the least reliable against a Huawei watch and Strava, and both outlets questioned the launch price beside full smartwatches. Wilkes found the 5 to 13 size range limited for large hands, and Samsung's page now says its sizing kit includes two new sizes.[6] [4] [2] [1] [5]
If you're on Android and want sleep and energy trends from something you'll forget you're wearing, it fits well. T3 said in July 2026 that a second-generation ring is confirmed. Confirm your size with the kit, then keep an eye on paid plans: 9to5Google reported in June 2025 that Samsung's digital-health head told CNET it was exploring a subscription model for its wearables.[7] [6] [5] [3]
