What a smart ring really costs after the checkout

Three annual Oura memberships add €209.97 to the price of a ring in the EU at today's €69.99 rate. For an observed Ring 4 Silver sale listing of €265.30, that makes €475.27 for the hardware and three annual charges, before any shipping or other extras. One annual charge brings that example to €335.29. The sale, selected size and checkout total remain conditional; the calculation assumes unchanged membership pricing and that you keep using the ring. A three-year budget is not a promise about battery lifespan.[1] [2]

James Stables' October 2024 three-week Oura Ring 4 review at Wareable makes the case for paying for interpretation. He valued the sleep, daily readiness and longer-term app presentation more than the physical upgrade from Gen 3. His 2024 verdict still criticized the high cost and argued subscribers deserved more value when replacing old hardware. That separates appreciation of the software from enthusiasm for every new ring purchase.[3]

Conor Allison found a different trade-off in his October 2024 RingConn Gen 2 review. A month of comparisons gave him reassuring everyday sleep observations, but the abundance of graphs and metrics eventually discouraged him from checking the app regularly. RingConn currently states that its core tracking requires no subscription. A recurring bill of zero is appealing; an app you stop opening can still make the hardware purchase poor value for you.[4] [5]

Later software experience adds useful nuance. After weeks with Oura Ring 4, Leon Poultney's February 2026 Stuff review found the app easy to navigate and useful for longer-term patterns. Some answers from its AI Advisor felt generic to him, however, and it did not build the specific workout or diet plan he wanted. Count the parts you will actually consult, rather than assigning the full purchase price to every feature on the page.[6]

Oura's current rates also differ by region and billing choice. In the US, membership is $5.99 monthly or $69.99 annually before tax; EU rates are €5.99 and €69.99 including tax. Twelve paid monthly instalments total 71.88 in either local currency, compared with 69.99 annually. Eligible new members receive a free first month. If you cancel, the app still works with reduced insights, and Oura says CSV data export remains available without membership.[1]

Compare your own one-year and three-year bills using the same local market and exact finish, adding membership and any optional paid integrations separately. Before subscribing, look at the app's current screens and export controls. These named accounts concern Ring 4 and Gen 2, with different testing dates; they do not establish the quality of their successors. The most useful app may justify a subscription, but the hardware discount should not hide the next renewal.
